Welcome to St. Jacobs Lutheran Church's Website in Glenville, PA. At St. Jacobs Lutheran Church we are rooted in the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ for all people. Our mission is to share that good news with one another and our neighbors.
We share Jesus’ love, by - growing deeper in God’s grace through worship, learning, and serving;
- encouraging and supporting one another in prayer, worship, and fellowship;
- sharing the love of Jesus through by sharing the good news and serving our neighbor in need.
While we cherish our heritage, we are looking to the future and the opportunities to serve Jesus Christ that will come our way. We are committed to leading all people, young and old, families and individuals, newcomers and old-timers, into a deeper relationship with our Savior and with one another. We thank you for looking us up, and hope this site is helpful. |

Last year the Monster Shakes were a hit, but remember, we have to ride back. Call the Church Office at 235-7313 or email us at

. THIRD ANNUAL COOKIE WALK - An organizational meeting will be held on Sept. 12 after our 10:15 worship service to plan the 2010 Cookie Walk. We've been keeping notes and taking suggestions since the first successful walk in 2008. All who are interested in donating cookies (we need lots of cookies for the demand), Christmas candy and fudge, chicken corn soup, have suggestions for a bigger and better walk, look really cute in an apron and Santa hat, and want to give the gift of time to this fund raiser please plan on attending. Proceeds are given to World Hunger and to the building fund of our new church. The cookie walk has grown from cookies, candy, lunch, and carry out soup to live wreaths, our favorite cookies and now gluten free and sugar free cookies are added, a train display, crafts, seasonal books, and spontaneous singing. The gingerbread man cookie decorating is a pastime activity for the children while mother labored on how to get more cookies in her container. It has now become a hilarious competition for adults as well. Please join us on Sept. 12 after services to offer your input. HARVEST HOME is October 10. Remember to bring your donations of canned goods for the Southern York Pantry as we give thanks to God for the gifts of creation. We will close the day with a HARVEST VESPERS beginning at 4:30 at a nearby farm. The evening will include a potluck supper, a pumpkin judging contest for the best looking pumpkin, the scariest pumpkin, and the largest pumpkin and tractor rides for the children. More details will follow. |
